Project
Bespoke digital interactive micro page

Role
Lead Designer

Timeline
2 days from concept to completion. Plus 1 day for exporting assets to Zeplin for Developer handover. On average 1-2 micro pages are created per week.

The challenge
As global governments intensify their focus on reducing carbon emissions, car manufacturers are racing to solidify their presence in the low and zero-emission vehicle market, offering affordable options for everyday drivers.

The process
In close collaboration with Toyota, a bespoke digital interactive product was created showcasing their commitment to leveraging diverse technologies for a zero-emissions future.

The interactive features embedded throughout the product enriched the user experience, including:

  • Click-through galleries

  • Flip cards illustrating the distinctions between battery-powered electric, hydrogen fuel cell, and hybrid vehicles

  • A counter-timer comparing the filling time for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles with the recharging time of electric vehicles

Despite tight timelines and design constraints, successful delivery of the final product was achieved within the 2-day timeframe.

Cross-Team Collaboration
From design, I led a cross-functional team comprising producers, developers, commercial integration specialists, marketing professionals, project managers, and content editors, ensuring seamless coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

Results
The article exceeded expectations, performing in the top percentile with:

  • 71,125 total page views, surpassing the target by 119%

  • A remarkable click-through rate of >36.1% above the benchmark was observed

These results underscore the engagement of readers with the interactive content, marking a significant achievement for Toyota.

💻 On average, news.com.au reaches 5 million unique sessions daily, emphasising the substantial impact and reach of this interactive product.
